Nina Moskowitz

Nina Moskowitz, MA

Academic Achievement Counselor

Bio:

Hi! I'm Nina (she/they), and I'm a queer, mixed-race Asian American woman from Santa Rosa, CA who has dedicated my career to student services and needs of marginalized populations in higher education. I am a Berkeley transfer student alum with a BA in English, and my MA is in Asian American Studies from San Francisco State University, where my research centered the positionality of mixed-race individuals. I have worked in student services for five years, and previously worked as a Learning Specialist with the Athletic Study Center, providing academic support to Cal’s student athlete population. No matter what student population I am serving, my goal is always to support all aspects of their identities, and empower students to take up space. Outside of work, I am an activist, a writer, an avid reader, and a dedicated cat mom to my fur baby, Jiji.

Education:

M.A. Asian American Studies, San Francisco State University

B.A., English; Minor, Asian American Studies, University of California, Berkeley

I am related to Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal!
