Bio:
My name is Katalina Cortez (she/her) and I am from Watsonville, CA. I am a proud Filipino American and was a first-generation college student. I attended George Mason University and De Anza College before transferring to UC Berkeley. At Cal, I graduated with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Psychology, Sociology, and Ethnic Studies. I have worked in student services for four years as a Counselor Assistant at Las Positas College and a Program Coordinator at UC Santa Cruz’s COVID-19 Quarantine and Isolation Housing Program. I am passionate and deeply committed to supporting student success, particularly for transfer students, as I understand their unique journeys and challenges from my own experience as a transfer student. When I am not working, I find joy in traveling, walking, watching Lakers games, and cooking.
