Bio:

I am a Cal alumna, I earned by B.A. in English in 2012. I am a first-generation transfer student from Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA. I grew up in Downey, CA near Los Angeles. During my undergraduate career at Cal, I served as a Peer Advocate at the Transfer Student Center. It was this experience that inspired me to pursue a career in counseling and helped me develop a passion for supporting the transfer student community. After graduating from Cal I began working in K-12 after-school programs and adult Career Technical programs. I am currently working on my Masters of Science in Educational Counseling. Most recently, I served as an Academic Achievement Counselor for Student Support Services (TRIO) at UC Berkeley. As a former transfer student, I have first-hand experience of the challenges of transferring and navigating a new campus culture and I hope to support transfer students as an Academic Achievement Counselor at the Transfer Student Center.  I have an open-door policy so please feel free to stop by and share your story with me. I look forward to meeting you!
