The Transfer Student Center Volunteer position is designed to provide you with an opportunity to develop leadership, communication, and collaboration skills as you assist with our goal of serving the large and diverse transfer student community at Cal.

Transfer Volunteer represent the Transfer Student Center in a variety of ways and play a critical role in helping the center achieve its mission of serving students who transfer from other colleges and universities. The Center provides a broad range of programs and services that focus on transition and navigation, community and collaboration, and student success and engagement. As a Transfer Volunteer, you are crucial to the Transfer Student Center’s day-to-day operations. The Transfer Volunteer will be a group of individuals that will lead and coordinate key project/programming areas in the Transfer Center. All Transfer Volunteer are asked to choose from one of several key project areas where you will serve as part of a team. They include; Operations, Outreach, Events/Programming, Off-Campus and Program Support

Student Requirements

Students will be required to:

  • Communicate weekly with an assigned supervisor to discuss the accomplishment of specific learning objectives

  • Become familiar with the center’s programs, policies and procedures

  • Develop an overview of community resources and campus services

  • Explore needs and issues relevant to a culturally diverse student population

  • Participate in biweekly trainings on either Monday 12:30pm-1:30pm or Friday 9:30am-10:30am
